BLACKOUT IN YOBE: BOKO HARAM KNOCKED DOWN 330KVA POWER TOWERS IN YOBE STATE

Residents of Borno and Yobe are now without light after two 330 KVA power transmission towers in the state were demolished by suspected Boko Haram insurgents, according to the Yobe police command.

This was said by the command's spokesperson, Dungus Abdulkarim, during a Saturday interview in Damaturu with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

According to Mr. Abdulkarim, Yobe and Borno get their electricity from Gombe through transmission towers.

According to him, the attackers are thought to have blown up the facilities early on Saturday morning using homemade explosives.
